I have the pleasure to work with a few highly-talented, high-profile professionals.
We intentionally follow the principles of unorganization as a way to improve our flexibility – a good thing for our clients as well.
We do get together for business (or just to share a good dinner), but most of the time we operate as a Geographically Dispersed Team, defined on Wikipedia as follows:
“A Geographically Dispersed Team (GDT) – also known as a Virtual team – is a group of individuals who work across time, space, and organizational boundaries with links strengthened by webs of communication technology. They have complementary skills and are committed to a common purpose, have interdependent performance goals, and share an approach to work for which they hold themselves mutually accountable. Geographically dispersed teams allow organizations to hire and retain the best people regardless of location.”
In addition to being technically skilled, each of us is fluent in at least two spoken languages (one of which is of course English), has working experience in several countries, is used to work in multi-cultural environments and to travel international.
